Hyderabad: TV Journalist Agasthya Kantu won the Bheem Best reporter of 2018 award by the prestigious Ambedkar India Mission. The senior reporter with Tv9 won this award for his coverage highlighting Dalit issues and in-depth analysis of people’s issues.The AIM organisation said Agasthya “has been given this award for focusing on the downtrodden’s issue and becoming their voice”. The award was given at Tyagaraya Sabha. The journalist got a specific mention on his story which unravelled the atrocities against Dalits in a villages in AP. Agasthya is a journalism graduate under the osmaina university. Agasthya speaking to our reporter said, “I worked for people, but the real reward would be on the day journalists need not report atrocities against Dalits and they are well off. Irrespective of the caste, I will report facts which is journalists jobs. I thank Ambedkar India Mission for recognising me “.
